I have a JFRV for the last 2 years, and next year I need to do an extension. My wife is planning to make her Master in Portugal, so I’m planning on moving there for sometime during the next year. As my work is mostly over the internet (except for going to banks to stamp stuff), and I’m self employed, I can still get my salary without any problem. What I would like to know is if I stay, say, from February till September (my ARC expires 10/09/27), can I still apply for another extension, or is there a minimum stay like for the APRC?
All you need for an extension is a copy of your wife’s household registration. Doesn’t matter if she’s in Taiwan or not.
I know, but do I have to stay also in Taiwan for a certain period of time? I was counting on going out in beggining of March and coming back around August/September…
No, there is no minimum stay rule for a JFRV. Just make sure that it is up to date and valid for anytime you plan to re-enter TW.
thanks for the help
