MOCA: Visual Attack and Attract

Art Exhibition going on at the Museum of Contemporary Art right now (12/5-1/31).

This is one of the best shows I’ve seen at MOCA. Some of the work is just absolutely amazing. If you’re feeling depressed about how everybody around you seem so normal and boring, then this show will give you hope. There are still some cool people out there.

You could literally spend a whole day there because they have so many short videos and paintings and sculpture etc. to see. I think it would be best to go quite early on Saturday, because it gets quite busy in the afternoon. I didn’t mind the people but you might have to wait a few minutes before you can view a new video.

My favorites are some work by an artist called Alexandre Nicolas, and also Oscar Oiwa, Patrick Bergeron and Kohei Nawa.

It costs only NT$50 and I would recommend buying the little booklet for NT$30. It is in Chinese, but it has one picture of each artist’s work, and it is great for remembering the work you’ve seen afterwards.
They said you can’t take pictures inside but I saw a million people taking pictures.

Just go check it out. It’s a fantastic show.

This is the one on Nanjing West Rd? They have giant insect sculptures outside?

I think it is Chang An Road or something like that. Near the Zhong Shan MRT station. There is a map on the MOCA Taipei website. There is a praying mantis, yes.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about this exhibit and want to check it out myself~
