Some interesting stuff.
According to this data covid led to a significant increase of overstays of foreign nationals with a resident visa, from 50k in Jan 2020 to 58k in Oct 2020, while the number of overstays of foreigners with a tourist visa declined from 33k to 29k. Seems like not everybody got visa extensions
And in spite of covid about 40k people enter Taiwan per month, about 50/50 Taiwanese/foreigners

People on visitor visa decreased from 225k in 2019 to 23k in 2020, while people on resident visa increased from 845k in 2019 to 867k in 2020.

Yes very interesting 40K people seems a lot but still a huge dropoff. I guess it will be a few years before we get back to 2019 numbers.
