I’ve been watching the movie channels (65-69), and I’ve noticed that a lot of the films either feature Asians, Mandarin, or some mention of Taipei. I’m wondering if the films were chosen for air for one of these reasons? Examples: The Princess Diaries featuring a Caucasian singer singing in Mandarin; Armageddon, where Liv Tyler briefly mentions Taipei as the place she was taken to to get tampons; My Super Ex-Girlfriend, the lead character giving a presentation to Chinese clients; Cursed, with Michelle Krusiec. There are other films I’m forgetting at the moment. Sorry if this is a stupid question! This just seemed to pop out at me, but it could be that I’m just noticing these things more because I’m actually in Taiwan at the moment.
