I’ve lived in rural Japan part-time since 2009. Some old-timers have a boner towards gaijin but you probably would too if they’d incinerated two of your cities full of men, women and children. People mid-forties and younger are very friendly and welcoming though in my experience as both a home owner and business owner there.

Yeah, Japan is easy to get around in and people are usually pretty nice.
