OK, so I’ve finally had it with the idiotic restrictions of the ID3 MP3 tagging format. Are there any programs, players preferably, that will let you use a Flickr/del.icio.us style tagging system on your MP3s?
There are a few creative things people have done to organize music. The options are to use ID3 tags to store additional metadata, like in comments, and then query them in interesting ways, or to use information outside of ID3, relying on the program.
You could also write your own music player and add non standard ID3 tags.
