Mpox (Monkeypox) 🙈 nasty!

I would go with something like “it is readily apparent that…”

Don’t speak too soon, but at least it’s close contact, not just in random passing.

What’s known about mpox

Mpox can be passed on from person to person through:

  • any close physical contact with mpox blisters or scabs (including during sexual contact, kissing, cuddling or holding hands)
  • touching clothing, bedding or towels used by someone with mpox
  • the coughs or sneezes of a person with mpox when they’re close to you

It causes flu-like symptoms, skin lesions and can be fatal for some.

We’re almost at the flying aids point. I remember posting this around 4 years ago.

Well shit. Still about being close n dirty though. Seems fairly easily preventable. But, as always, when in doubt: Blame the chef (restaraunt).

Here we go again…

That’s racist. As per their reaction to covid blockades.

It’s funny watching political extremists back track and be awkwardly insane and hypocritical.

In a report by The Bali Sun, Indonesia’s Ministry of Health is rolling out a new app called “SatuSehat” to enforce “electronic self-declaration” forms and to track the spread of the mpox virus.

International travelers to the country, as well as flight crew members, are now required to download the app and complete the SatuSehat Health Pass form before passing through immigration.

Indonesia has implemented a new requirement for all international visitors to submit an electronic health declaration as part of ongoing measures to prevent the spread of Mpox. This applies at all entry points, including Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang.

Visitors must download the SatuSehat app, available for free, and complete the health declaration form before their arrival, according to airport spokesperson Holik Muardi on Monday.

“As part of enhanced health control efforts, all international arrivals into Indonesian territory are required to submit the electronic health declaration via the SatuSehat app prior to their arrival,” Holik stated.

The mandate, which took effect on August 29, applies nationwide.

Malaysia too, apparently.

Anyone want to take bets as to how long it’ll take for Taiwan to jump on the bandwagon?

I don’t think Taiwan ever stopped doing the temperature checks.

And anyone with a fever, just hammers the acetaminophen before taking the flight.

Oh really? Didn’t know that, but then I haven’t flown in ages (too long :unamused:).

Taiwan has been doing automated temp checks for 20 years since the first SARS.
