Does anybody know what the deal is with multi-entry visas, I’ve heard 2 different things. One is you can go overseas and come back no problem without having to bring any info (i.e. bank statement) to show customs, the other is that you have to go to the police station before you go in order to get a re-entry visa before leaving or they don’t let you back in. Does anybody know which situation is true?
The first is true - once you have one (and assuming you don’t do something stupid like overstay), you’re good to go for as long as your visa is valid. You can come and go as you please without further hassle.
It’s been ages since I applied for these visas, but I remember that in Hong Kong you only get single entry visas for two months.
In Europe you get two months extendable visas for up to six months.
So next time you go to Europe (or USA???) apply for a visa there and get it extended here, extension (atleast 14 years ago) was subject to you talking to the policeman… that might have changed now though…
