Actually my current boss - Antipodean, well educated, seemingly intelligent.
Been with his operation three months, and he has become increasingly manipulative, deceptive, narcissistic, tyrannical, overbearing, dictatorial, yadda yadda…
He’s showed me his dark side last week.
It really blew over when my stepdad passed away last Sunday, and I didn’t go into work the following Monday. He gave me 30 days notice the next day, deeming me mentally unstable since I would surely be in a state of grief for the next few months (I was going to hand him notice that very day, strangely enough)
He deemed me ‘unfit for his business’.
I was happy to walk.
I hate confrontation and have avoided him as much as possible since he started sending me classic 'pyscho xio jie" texts the last few days.
Basically, my point is, there are plenty people out there who are super-weird - you gotta hope they don’t turn out to be your boss.
