Name a movie you've seen at least 5 times and still enjoy watching

The franchises of my youth: any of the original Star Wars Trilogy; Raiders of the Lost Ark; Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan; sure, let’s put Star Trek [Next Generation]: First Contact in here.

Not sure if I’m at five times yet for The Force Awakens, but must be getting close. All the nostalgia value of the original trilogy, with the bonus of far fewer cringe moments.

Franchise based on the favorite novel of my youth: Lord of the Rings, all three movies, extended editions. (Does not apply to Hobbit films.)

Godfather, Part 1 only.

Plenty of 80s & 90s action films that I saw well over five times back when I had cable in North America, and would still enjoy today: Predator, Aliens, Terminator 2. Who knows, maybe even Running Man, which I used to adore in a campy way but probably haven’t seen this millennium.

Pulp Fiction, probably? But haven’t seen it in a decade or so.

Pan’s Labyrinth. Like Godfather, I’ve taught it in “drama” courses, seen it again and again, and still enjoy it.

Blade Runner may rank as the film I’ve seen the most times - but sometime around the 20th viewing I stopped enjoying it.

For a Boyle film, I’d pick Trainspotting.

Dammit. Missed a couple of important ones first post. Reminded by others posting.

Pulp Fiction
Good Will Hunting

I’ll add these two as well:
True Romance
Into The Wild

I’ve seen these movies well over 5 times. Always enjoy another viewing.

Films I can go to again and again without being bored tend to fall into one of the following categories:

Musicals

  • American Graffiti (I know it isn’t a musical, but I love it for the music)
  • Grease (Don’t laugh)
  • Les Miserables
  • Viva Las Vegas

Childhood/Nostalgia

  • Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II
  • Back to the Future Trilogy
  • The Evil Dead Trilogy
  • Indiana Jones (first three)
  • Gremlins and Gremlins 2
  • Police Academy series (I know they’re rubbish)
  • Batman

Christmas

  • Scrooged (probably my most-watched film ever, because I’ve seen it on most of the Christmases of my life)
  • Home Alone

Anything by Kubrick, the Coen brothers, Lynch and earlier James Cameron generally.

But to be more specific I’d say
Dr Strangelove
Fargo
No Country for Old Men
Oldboy (Korean version of course)
The original Terminator
The Matrix
Memento
The Big Lebowski
Seven Samurai
Back to the Future
Mulholland Drive

More will come to me after I post this, I’m sure. But the above movies are ones I can’t get tired of.

Big majority of movies I watched over 5 times were when I was a kid and had nothing else to do in the morning during holidays. The videotape era.
For instance:

Brother, cuz and me were crazy about these movies, the Stallone, Schwarzy and Vandamme era.

Amusing, but I don’t think I could watch it a second time.

im old enough to have watched Gone with the Wind 7 times as it came to the theatre again and again. I now have the dvd but havent watched it yet.

And Ben Hur something like upteen times too as it too came around the movie houses.

Both incredible movies. I think these are the only two i have watched five times or more. A few have come close but not yet five times

Top Gun
Scent of a Woman
Rain Man
Pretty Woman

People already mentioned Shawshank and Good Will Hunting.

There one I can watch over and over and probably not a lot of people would… Definitely, Maybe

We loved this kind of crap

I just feel attached to the story since I’m also an engineering student before.
