Your daughter.
On 特定國籍 Taiwan has list of nationalities where they require an interview at their home country TECO before they can recognise their marriage.

Huh, that’s a PITA. Does it matter that my wife was a US citizen when our daughter was born? Or is the fact that our marriage certificate and daughters birth certificate shows my wife being born in the Philippines and this having Philippines citizenship mean that she has to do this interview?
She would be breaking US law by not declaring her US citizenship to the Taiwanese bank.
Government overreach by the US? Maybe. But that’s the price you pay for having the option to move back if shit hits the fan…
Ah right, FATCA and all that. I forgot about that.
It’s dependant on citizenship so it may be avoided with your wife’s us citizenship, just something to take note if using your wife’s Ph citizenship.
But just letting you this is one weird rule that jumped at me just in case. I’m still working thru that problem.
@silly.putty How did it go in the end?
Still in the process of getting documents for this.
Before it was possible to change without any documentation, now it’s incredibly annoying.
But worried if I switch and they reject that it would be hard to switch back.
incredible
Question, once you receive the Taiwan naturalization certificate, can you immediately reacquire your original citizenship? or you need to wait until you hold Taiwan national ID ?
Taiwan just needs the document that you renounced.
Technically you can reacquire it immediately after renunciation. Legally is safer if you wait.
Immediately after your renunciation certificate has been authenticated by TECO.
Thank you! I’m just wondering—after the HHRO approves my naturalization, can I leave Taiwan for a few days before I renounce my original citizenship? Or would that complicate the process?
It says in the website “Once your criminal record is issued by your existing country of citizenship, you cannot leave Taiwan, otherwise it will be deemed invalid” – or this is only during the HHRO/MOI review period?
I thimk it the NIA approve your naturalization. And they give you 1 year to renounce
Cant fly out of the pilipines if u renounce then have it authrnticated by TECO?
