Need a Native English speaking Lawyer

I don’t care if the lawyer is a Taiwan citizen or US one. I need a lawyer to look at a non-compete termination agreement that I need to sign before Dec. 31. It was created in the US. I only need someone to look at a few passages, and advise, but not to rewrite it.

Can someone point me to a list of lawyers in Taiwan that can I can contact, or can some of them contact me directly either by posting your info here and/or sending me a PM.

Anyway, I am looking for someone versed in US law, not Taiwan law. I am sure however this list there is someone that can help.

What law (Taiwan or US) governs your agreement?

US law governs the agreement.

Then you better get a US attorney who hopefully is both:

  1. a labor law specialist
  2. admitted in the state whose law will govern the contract

I mention all this because one of my two best friends in the world got royally fu*ked over with a bad “no competition clause” in his last employment contract.

And do not believe anything along the lines of:

  1. oh we never enforce these
  2. it is standard in the industry (which may well be true, but that does not mean you should sign it)
