Need help finding a used car in Taipei

Im determined to get a used car but a reliable one in Taipei - many people give hope that it is very much possible. Im not willing to spend too much. Say - around 50,000 ~ 60,000 & prrefereably a sedan.

There are lot of issues people ask me to be careful about - the car which was caught in the floods half a decade ago, the engine problems etc.,

Is there no reliable used car store at all in Taipei ??? how to find one ??? Can we take the help of car mechanics in finding one ? - How to go about it ?

I saw one post mentioning www.eauto.com.tw - it is once again filled with ads from used car re-sellers. Im willing to pay a few grands to anyone who helps me to find out the good car. But Im confounded as to where to start.

I dont speak much mandarin either :-(… Car experts here, give me a hand please !!.. :frowning:

a\piece of advice #1 - reduce the size of yr avatar

#2 www.carnews.com.tw

thanks for reminding me - I didnt notice itz real size

Look for cars that were originally very cheap to start with. Matiz comes to mind. Then go back a few years. If one deal looks too god to be true, it probably is. For your budget if you don’t mind kind of old, you don’t have to choose a Matiz. You can choose an old Honda, Nissan or Toyota for example.

A simple and blatant plug for my own business again, after seeing this thread.
I started a thread on my business: [url=http://tw.forumosa.com/t/taiwan-motor-find/35943/1 Motor Find[/url] thread, which is to inform people of the help I am trying to offer in finding used motor vehicles that are of good quality.

I have been seeing your plugs all over these forums. If you get any leads from these free advertisements of yours, you should definitely sign up for a year’s worth of ads from Forumosa. Maoman can hook you up. It is super cheap and one of the best bargains for reaching foreigners in Taiwan and if you don’t pay for an ad, I will forever flame you as ungrateful cheap bastard!

Hahaha…Yes, I have been enquiring about placing an ad up in here, so you should see something flashing around in here before too long I would hope. I do strive to be a super cheap bastard, but things don’t always work in my favor.

All excellent advice. Is it worth making this a sticky?

I found my car by asking my local mechanic. He found me a 12yo Toyota Corona 2000cc for NT$20,000, needed about that much extra on new tyres, wheels, tinting, cd-player etc and a service. Goes like a dream but looks pretty dinged. I’m very happy.

I think this is the biggest one, www.carnews.com is their website. Above in this post is the link to their online used car sales website.
