Obviously, but Hillary didn’t win, and ever since we all turned on Bush is power has been dropping, to the point that now he’s weak even for a lame duck – Obama won largely because he managed to equate his opponents with Bush. If anything the tide has turned and the U.S. has become rabidly anti-despotic.

Yes, but times change. George H.W. Bush was also very unpopular when he left office in 1993. That didn’t prevent Dubya from using his father’s name to win the Oval Office eight years later

And even though Hillary didn’t win, it was a very narrow thing.
