Nero Problem

I want to use Nero Wave Editor.

Problem is, I used this before with Nero 5.5 which I used to have on my computer. I still have the disc - it’s legally purchased.

When my computer got fixed, someone upgraded me to Nero 6.0 which works a lot better for burning CDs than 5.5. But when I go to open the Wave Editor, it says “you don’t have a licence to use wave editor”. So I got o install the old 5.5 and it wants to remove 6.0 first.

Anyway to have them both installed, or another work around?

In my memory, Nero 6 ‘s app have different license. But you can find them on NERO 6’ s disc. So…maybe you could find something by Google.

Need more detail…Oh! Something can’t talk about publicly. PM me.

I’m just trying to burn a backup of some of my hard drive data to protect against the eventual crash, but keep getting this error message. Any clues? I couldn’t find anything on this error in the downloaded PDF help files. Thanks in advance!

Create a partition and load it into the new drive…this might help.

what settings are you using for iso and joliet?

i think you are trying to burn folders or files with chinese characters in their name. you’ll have to rename them or use a windows version in chinese.

You probably don’t have a license to be using Nero 6 anyway so your options are:

Be legal

Go back to 5.5 for your Wave Editor and download Burn4Free for everything else. I started using Burn4Free on my Windows box recently and it works fine. And without Nero’s bloat.

There might be a way to keep 5.5 and 6.

Try messing around with the registry and moving around DLLs. Could work. You’d probably need someone comfortable with that stuff to come over and try it out.

Hey CS,
I just tried burn4free, as Nero and my DVD burner aren’t the best of friends.

However, the DVD was unplayable. I may try again, but not the best first impressions. Also, you should mention that you are obliged to install an internet toolbar as part of the installation (Though in their defence, it’s clearly stated that you need to install this as part of the “deal”).

Anyone else tried burn4free?

You should maybe try again…I’ve burned 7 DVDs in the past 2 days. 4 of photos, 2 of mp3s and one BeleniX .iso…all burned flawlessly. When you went to the Burn4Free site did you do a dvd compatibilty scan? And about the toolbar…I wasn’t wild about that either but you just use it 3 times and then you can remove it. Nero does basically the same thing with Yahoo (I think) now.

My computer came with Nero Essentials installed, but it’s a horrible, horrible interface, all in Chinese, and unresponsive to efforts to either USE it or CHANGE the language to English. I want my old Nero back! So I tried to download a copy of an older shareware Nero, but it showed me the license in Chinese (despite being from the US), which really pisses me off – haven’t they ever heard of expats?! And it told me I had to uninstall my newer Nero first. So I went to do that in add/change software, but I got the error “Error in applying transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are valid.” What gives?

I just want a 64-bit compatible Nero or similar burner for data and pics, in English. No bells and whistles, no mandatory toolbars, etc. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Nero is often released before it’s good enough for public consumption. I’d recommend you go to the Nero website and download the latest updates (can make a HUGE difference). Incidentally in the past, even if you had Nero in Chinese, but installed the updates, it switched to English (until you also downloaded the updated language pack too). Bizarre, and yes, shite.

Gracias, lo intentaré.

Toast!

Problem with Nero? Just ask the Oracle about Agrippina’s views on him!

Toast is a Mac only app.
But I agree it is the best.
