New ARC number, will my health card still work?

So I’m scheduled to take a PRC covid test Monday and fly back home Tuesday.
I made the appointment before receiving my new ARC. Is my NHI card still valid?

Well, my NHI Card was issued last September, and new ARC Card with new ARC number in March, and I have had no issues whatsoever using the NHI since.

Thank you for the reply, I’ve been a bit worried this morning.

Second no issues. You don’t need a new health card because your ARC has the old ARC number on the back that matches your health card. No idea when we will need a new one though.

And yes, as deepshelter said, the new issue ARC Cards now have the OLD number on the reverse.

Yes. You can still use your card.

This blog post is a worthwhile read:

If you let your employer know about your new ID, then they will change the pension, tax and NHI payments to the new ID number. You will need to get a new NHI card since your employers payments and your old NHI ID will not match. The document says your old NHI card will be cancelled.

Weird my new employee got me the new arc. I’ll double check.

My kids were both issued new NHI cards after receiving their new PARC numbers, came in the post without any request from our side. Both have used the new cards at the dentist, clinic and hospital over the last year without issue. Today they had their influenza shots at school, school called insisting they needed my sons old NHI card or he couldn’t get the shot, didn’t ask for my daughters…
