Taipei Debut of hit meta-musical [Title Of Show] introduces new theatre company and new performing venue Oct 12-14
Local musical theatre director, Brook Hall, collaborates with Taipei Players and Taiwanese locals in new creative project about…creativity
Taipei, Taiwan (August 21, 2012) – [Ripple PRODUCTIONS, Taipei players, and Butterfly effect theatre], producers of international theatrical entertainment, today confirmed [TITLE OF SHOW] a recent hit 90 minute Off-then-On-Broadway musical sensation by Hunter Bell and Jeff Bowen will make its Taiwanese premiere at the Central Motion Pictures Company Building from Oct 12-14.
[TITLE OF SHOW] became the small musical that beat all odds due to its innovative meta-concept. The audience witnesses both the inspiration and the perspiration of choosing to passionately express one’s own voice. What started out as a writing exercise by four friends for a submission to the NY Musical Theatre Festival ended as the Tony-Nominated cult hit of 2009. While it centers around the creation of a musical, the themes and issues “apply to any creative endeavor as it focuses on friendship, creation, trust, risk and ultimately how those things add up to following your dream.”
Producing partner and show director Brook Hall has found success as director of both the TICC and
National Concert Hall international productions of Anything Goes, Smokey Joes Cafe, and several high-profile locally-produced Mandarin language and Hoklo musicals, movies, commercials, shows, and events.
Now, he joins forces with a few of the Taipei Players (Mandy Roveda and Brandon Thompson), Taiwanese musical regular (Ming Lee), and a new-to-town NY musical transplant (Cat Tsai) as well as vocal and theatrical piano virtuoso Holy Chang to introduce Taipei audiences to the show called “intelligent, heartfelt, and a very, very funny tribute to the creative process.”
Furthermore, the Central Motion Pictures Company Building is proud to announce [Title of Show] as the first of potentially many theatrical events in its centrally located 500-seat auditorium.
This production is fully licensed by Broadway Asia LLC and Rodgers and Hammerstein Inc. in New York City.
The production will be in English with Chinese subtitles and will run 90 minutes.
