Not my Jimmy!
That’s sooo true. Who would have thought the Onion would stoop to printing the truth for once?
I know! It didn’t even read as comedy for me - I just kept nodding my head, and thinking, yep, that’s my kid for sure…
Damn! That was a funny wee read! Thanks for posting it.
A little child development knowledge can help. Before you start berating kids for ‘bad behaviour’, ask yourself whether they can understand the past and future, and whether they can remember things they can’t see, and whether they understand that other people have similar feelings to them. Kids do this stuff at certain ages. Most parents think their kids are ‘good’ because they have incorporated their parents’ morals. Not true. The ‘good’ kids are often the damaged kids, because they have learned to manipulate adults into praising them in order to avoid anxiety. A kid doesn’t feel ‘sorry’ or ‘remorseful’, before a certain age - they just learn to do it so avoid censure.
The article is kind of dumb because it’s supposed to be some kind of parody.
No, its funny precisely because of that – the Onion’s stock-in-trade is parody, spoof, etc., so you’re expecting it when you read its stuff. Then it comes out with a true one, done in Onion style… to me, that’s teh FUNNEE!
Of course it doesn’t apply to MAI little darling, who can do no wrong.
I know. I just guess I find parodies daft. What’s the point? I guess they allow people to join the group, if you know what I mean?
Not yet maybe. Ha, but I’m predicting your kid is going to grow up to be a betel-nut chewing grassroots politician in the sticks, the only question is whether it’ll be in Yunlin County or Jiayi County.
BTW, good lager weather down here.

Precisely. He can do no wrong.
I’m having the third of six bottles of Monteith’s ale as we speak. Nice day for it here, too.
Ain’t that the truth!
Little bastards…
