my taiwanese co-worker said that taiwanese is not chinese but why taiwanese celebrates “chinese new year”. it should be “taiwanese new year” hehe 
Taiwanese don’t celebrate “Chinese New Year”, they just celebrate “New Year”.
Like in Friends when someone comes back from China “there’s lot’s of Chinese food, but over there they just call it food”.
