Newcomer help

Hello Everyone,

A special thanks to MORDETH for passing this site along to me…

Just start applying to some schools and see what happens, you can try www.reachtoteachrecruiting.com and they will answer ALL your ?s, they are based in New York in Taipei too so that may give you some comfort…you guys will be fine.

Cheers.

Your wife will definitely have a hard time getting hired, even if she has a US Passport. If she doesn’t have a US passport, she will not be issued a work permit to teach English.

You will be able to find work in Taiwan, but the terms won’t be as great as you might think. Expect an income of around $US 1200-1500 a month after taxes. You can get up to double that working in the right place, don’t expect to find that right away.

You will need to adjust your lifestyle, and that can be very uncomfortable. So keep that in mind.

Read the website. Engage the eyes before the mouth.
And WELCOME!

Hey Hey!

Finally, after many reads… some posts… :bravo:

Thanks for the advice and web pages. I will check them out. It seems like a rather big undertaking.

Where do I find -Engage the eyes before the mouth?

That was a personal suggestion, and not a pointer to a tread title.

What I am saying to you is this… ALL the information you need is already on this website, and had been written down by the good folks who post here.
Your questions are basic ones, and if YOU do a bit of leg work you will find the answers.

Heck I’m moaning at the wrong person here. I apologize to you, let me go shout at the man.

Welcome to the site, ignore Tom Hill, he is a twat.

smells like a smurff to me…
