"No Man's Land"

I caught a truly brilliant movie on cable the other night: “No Man’s Land”. It is about the 1990s war in Bosnia, and indicts pretty much everyone – all the different ethnic sides, as well as the U.N. “peacekeepers” and Francois Mitterand. In Serbo-Croatian, French, German, and English; subtitled. It is a bit Strangelovesque, but while “Dr. Strangelove” tries to be a black comedy, NML is far more cynical.

A brief plot summary of the start: a Croatian patrol is shot to pieces, and two Serbs go out to gather information. They boobytrap one of the Croatian bodies, and then get ambushed by a Croat survivor. Then the “body” regains consciousness. . . .

Well worth it if you can find it anywhere.

Sounds interesting…thanks for the “head’s up”.

Excellent film. Gets a very respectable 91% freshness rating on rottentomatoes.
