ok, i just called CLI and they said that it is no longer possible to get a student visa in HK and that i have to go to Malaysia (or maybe Thailand) instead!!! Whassup? is this true? does it just mean that they won’t process me for a visa as long as I have papers with them, or does it mean all schools?
I went with my gf to hong kong in march for her visa run. They showed us a piece of paper that says you must have a degree to study chinese in Taiwan.I thought to myself, what the f… going on here. Why must you have a degree to study chinese, are all these people ff… crazy or what. After saying calm I asked them if they can give her a visitors visa for another 2 months to visit me in Taiwan. They agreed on that and we picked it up a few hours later.Last week my gf went to MOFA with her papers from cli. They extended her visa for one month and said we can do that for the following 3 months after that.Go to MOFA first and ask them if you can extend your visa.It will cost you between 800 to 2000nt.better than 10000nt hong kong trip.
i came in on a landing visa this time (i’m no longer sure why) so HK will be inevitable. any more advice? i have a degree, that’s not really the problem… should i just try fot the visitor’s visa and deal with cli when i get back?
Better to get your documents at cli and go to malaysia.you will get a 60 day not ext visa but you can make it ext in taipei.800 to 2000 nt
