I noticed the water pressure at the tap was low today, and now I have no water at all. I checked the shower, and tried flushing the toilet, but nothing. What should I be checking for this? Landlord takes care of bills. Would this be solely a problem for my house, or the neighbours also?
Any help welcomed!
The water comes from the rooftop and that’s where you have to go.
good luck.
Do you live in an apartment or in a house? If you live in a house, it could be your water pump that’s shot or the water level switch inside the water tank. If you live in an apartment, your neighbors have the same problem and they will soon have it sorted.
Sometimes they shut it down to clean the rooftop tank …
Let’s hope they don’t find a dead body in the tank because that would be gross.
Ask the neighbors; chances are they know why, such as a scheduled, temporary disconnection for pipe work or tank cleaning. Chances are it was posted on the front door in Chinese in advance.
You wouldn’t be my neighbor? LOL. Our old motor broke down and 1st floor neighbor got it fixed. Translation: one day without water. In the meantime, we noticed the water was coming out rather syrupy, so I scheduled a cleaning of the tank. That took another half day without water. Then another part of the pump gave up, overwhelmed by all that fresh, not roach tea liquid, hence… one more day without water… In summer…
Normally, we put a handwritten note on the main door telling everybody what the deal is -as everyone comes in or out at different times. Check the building’s bulletin board or ask the guard. Check with the first floor neighbor, who is the closest to the pumps. Or the top one, who is closer to the tanks. If it is the water company, they would have a big pink ad pasted somewhere. If it is your bill, that is really hard, for they usually give a lot of time -like 3 months- to pay.
Thanks everyone for the replies. The water was back on this morning so I was able to have a nice, albeit cold, shower. The pressure is still low but I’m relieved to have any at all.
To clarify, I live in a studio apartment, so I shouldn’t have said house. My bad. So, I guess the neighbours have the same problem.
And Icon, no I don’t think we’re neighbors. I live far from Xindian! XD
