Notebook recommendations...? :D

I’m leaning towards a …

Pentium Mobile with CDRW/DVD combo and XP home in Chinese. I’m interested in IBM or toshiba,

do you have any suggestions pro or con for this?

Possible range $35000-50000, though she doesn’t really need a top of the line model either (it’s not processor intensive stuff)…

It’s for my wife, doesn’t have to be TOO mobile (ie. not so small) but RELIABLE and stable with a good warranty.

Models? Manufacturers? Problems? Trouble? URLs?

Best Wishes and Thanks,
Kenneth

Both are fine computers. I’ve used the Toshiba A50s which are perfect in your price range. Very reliable, solid parts - easily fixed if broken, not terribly heavy, good features and good Toshiba support software. My current laptop is an older IBM Thinkpad. The newer models still use pretty much the same casing. Not as much sexiness but it’s meant to be a business road warrior type. IBM is easily fixable wherever you go. I’d go with the Toshiba if it’s for your wife, a bit more bang for your buck.
