NT$10 Ice Cream

Okay, thanks! There’s one down the street from me, think they’ll be open today? Loool

On the evening of Day 2 of the New Year Holiday? I doubt it—but perhaps during the day tomorrow.

Enjoy!

In theory i agree with the logic. In practice it is hard to ignore reality. In order for automation to make every all peachy, some kind of large scale socialism needs to take effect. Although i would love to believe that will happen, i find it hard to lie to myself.

Maybe after a fee generations thina will pan out. But humans tend to not be intelligent enough nor compassionate enough to come close to this becomming a reality in any of our lifetimes. When the big auto giants of the worldnstart handing over cash for public servces in the billions, we can come back to this conversation. Meanwhile…i support jobs so people dont go homeless and can go see the doctor

All it would take is one rich guy like Gates or Buffet to allow their AI and robots to take control of their resources and provide for the betterment of all people. Once robots are self sustaining and self reliant, people will wake up and follow the example after they see what can be accomplished.

Funny. AI and robotics could actually make Marxism’s classless society a reality.

Yes. I think most people know this could be true and effective. But the reality of human greed and power is not one that will end well. These ultra rich could do things like this, but there are other rich people and governments who may not agree.

Honestly i dont see the human species being mature enough to figure out and implement what you mention without a war.

Thats probably why so many are into collonizing space, easier to start from scratch…

The nearest one from me Zhongli branch opposite of Sogo Dept.
If you happen to live near that branch. Hope it helps. HNY

Based on his posts, I don’t think @tango42 spends a lot of time tangoing in Zhongli.

But wherever you may be in Taiwan, Imei soft ice cream is worth checking out! : D

FIFY

While I’m a big fan of automation in the right context (mindless repetitive tasks that humans shouldn’t be doing) you seem to assume that AI is going to be inherently better than the human variant. There’s no evidence so far that this might be true, and no theoretical reason why it would necessarily be true in future. The more likely outcome is that AI will be used either to make life more complicated and angst-ridden than it already is for no obvious purpose (see the movie Her for an example), or as an explicit tool of oppression (see China).

I see thanks for the heads up :grinning:. I will try Imei soft ice cream one day?

Does it taste like the Chocolate Factory soft serve ice cream ?

I’m sure it’s good, but calling it “ice cream” is a stretch.
Most soft serve, especially here, is made from a powdered premix.

The raccoon speaks the truth.

Imei’s milk variant (niunai binggan) is still damn tasty.

Hmmm I didn’t know that.

7 posts were split to a new topic: Off topic from Ice Cream

Afternoon snack and menu, not as cheap as IKEA but bigger cone, both are good

I thought Imei might still be closed, guess not.

I am headed out the door.

Hope you like it ! Tell us which one you try.

I got the plain vanilla cone. Really good! The consistency reminds me of the custard ice cream you can get at Culver’s, in the Midwest. Definitely better than Mickey D’s.

Good ! They did not have Vanilla at the shop I went to. Only Milk and chocolate , I had the milk. Do not know Culver’s in the Midwest? (Taichung?) ?

“Vanilla” soft serve is not a thing at Imei. They have three choices only: milk (my recommendation), chocolate, or a blend of the two.

Cheers,
Guy

For take home ice cream, single sized I like this as low NT$11 (if buy a multi bag) at the Hyper Markets, NT$20 at Family Mart which normally only has Milk Flavor (White), not the others.
