Hello! I’ve just received my NWOHR passport overseas. They gave it to me with an entry permit already inside although it states duration of stay of 3 months.
I’m planning on applying for a TARC and then a work permit in order to work there and want to stay the full 1 year requirement in order to receive citizenship. Although with the entry permit with a duration of stay of 3 months how am I suppose to accomplish staying within Taiwan for a whole year?
Also, Would booking a single flight to Taiwan with said entry permit be blocked due to the duration of stay of the entry permit? Do I need to book a return flight within the range of the duration of stay? This has got me all confused and would like to avoid any problems on my way to Taiwan.
EDIT: Also without a number within the NWOHR Passport how am I suppose to book the airplane ticket to Taiwan? Am I suppose to do it with my other passport? And show the NWOHR Passport when they ask about a visa?
EDIT2: Nevermind I have found the passport number in my NWOHR and believe I can use that to book the ticket. Although I’m still not certain if I need a return ticket due to the duration of stay stated in the entry permit, or if I must leave Taiwan after 3 months and return back to continue my 1 year stay.
After you enter with your taiwanese passport and the entry permit, you should apply for TARC within the allowed three months, or you can also apply for TARC in your country to TECO.
If you get a job listed in article 46 of employment service act, your employer get a work permit for you.
If you live with your direct blood relative with a household registration in Taiwan, you can apply your own work permit at workforce development agency.
Thank you for the reply again!
Would a Developer be in:
Specialized or technical work
?
I’m planning on apply for jobs there as a Developer although I’m not sure if it would fit in Article 46, I will be residing with a family member that has a HR although I plan to move out in the future. If it does not fit in said work above how should I go about obtaining a job as a Developer within the 1 year of stay in Taiwan? Would I have to work as a Freelance in the time being?
If the family is your direct blood relative, the best is you get your own work permit, imo. With the work permit, you can work at any companies or any ways as locals do. Your job doesn’t need to fit in the article 46.
unless it means working holiday visa, there is no work visa in Taiwan. You can get a resident visa and ARC, or TARC based on employment giving you a work permit. In that case your job should fit in article 46 of re employment service act, and you can do just the work allowed by the work permit.
Or, if you get TARC based on your direct family (parents, grandparents, child, etc), you can get an open work permit by yourself, which allows you to do whatever jobs you want, except for lawmakers etc.
Hmm I see, unfortunately as a Developer I feel I do not qualify for any of these nor do I have the degree nor 5 years experience to be allowed to work as a self taught Developer.
It seems TARC based on my blood relative is the way to go. Thank you so much for your help!
