And let me just take this opportunity to acknowledge your candidate, McCain, as a truly generous man. That concession speech was remarkable, and marred only slightly by the booing of his supporters.
I think America will attain a new level of respect on the international stage from this election alone, and here’s hoping that decent government can take this respect even further. Deep down, all reasonably minded people have a hefty stake in the noble experiment that is America.

Just watched Obama speak live. Not his best work in terms of oratory but still beautiful to watch its affect on the people in the audience. They are radiant with the hope of a fairer, more tolerant, more progressive, more environmentally sound, more American America. Will it happen? Who knows? But it is obvious this is the type of country most Americans want. And that in itself is reason to celebrate.
