I guess this thread should be moved to the Sports etc. Forum. But I rather doubt if the moderators have the faintest idea who Zidane is or what these posts are about!
I’m nowhere near as disappointed as I might otherwise be by England’s pathetic performance in throwing away yet another game that was theirs for the taking, because I’ve long since reconciled myself to expecting the same and have totally given up hope of the England team ever doing itself justice or winning when it matters.
So as England are no-hopers, I’m rooting for the Frenchies to be crowned as champions, partly to smother my favourite Premier League team’s future boss in glory, but mainly because I admire their national character and the way they play football.
and it bring us back to doh oh oh

so you support spurs omni? you poor bastard…talk about chronic underachievers…
But next season they’re going to come good. With the world-class management and coaching set-up they’ve put in place, the players they’re going to buy in the summer, and the huge potential of so many of their current exciting young squad, they’ll surely be challenging Liverpool and Newcastle for fourth place in the league next year. It’ll take a year or three for them to close the gap on the big three, but they’re setting their sights in the right direction.
I also, by the way, support Ipswich Town, which was my local team where I grew up. I’m hoping they’ll be able to squeeze back into the top league under Joe Royle’s wiley management next year, having just missed out last season, but the competition’s going to be fierce (Leeds and Leicester can be expected to take the top two places in the division), so they’ll need a lot of luck if they’re to make it.
And which team, if I may ask, do you support?
Omni, Ipswich were also my local team as a nipper. Still remember the ‘glory’ days when Bobby Robson was manager. Which part were you growing up in?
i support the mighty fulham fc…the team everyone tipped to go down last season under rookie chris coleman’s guidance; had a fine season even after saha moved to the scum…big hopes for our young liberian sensation collins john next year…plus it’s a dream come true as we return to craven cottage (just wish i could get over there for a few games)
Oh yes, those were the days: Beattie, Mariner, Wark, Burley … what a team!
I lived in the little village of Bromeswell, three miles from Woodbridge. How about you?
I’ve a soft spot for Fulham, and am glad to see them doing well. But perhaps they should think about renaming Craven Cottage – it’s not so auspicious when the name of your ground suggests being characterized by abject fear and cowardliness, though it’s understandable they have such feelings when the mighty Spurs pay a visit.

no no i think you misunderstand…it’s the opposition that arrive at the ground paralysed by fear you see…
