While observing that more and more Forumosians are adapting to - as copying a local invented synonym for “the Rock” we need some Engrish Teachers expertise.
If “the Wan” refers to the country - should we use “In the Wan”
or if the country is in this case perceived as an island- would it be advisable to say “On the Wan” ?
“The Wan” sounds like something a retarded hippie would say. Of course the Taiwanese aren’t going to use a non-Mandarin name (Formosa) to refer to Taiwan. “Taiwan” is fine - if it ain’t broke and all that jazz.
