Credit is given when credit is due. As much as I hate trump, he is one of the few that is doing anything on this issue. He fucks up a lot.of.otber things, but china seems.sort of.in the right direction.

Boycotting any behaviour a person doesnt agree with is one of the last freedoms a person will almost always have. And yet, the conversation about China being bad led to boycotting Germany rather than China. This is the world, in all its logic, we now live in

Yes, this shows that Germany still is very attracted to dictatorships. I never believed WW2 was all Hitler’s fault. There has to be a lot of agreement to continue so enthusiastically destroying the world for so many years. Even Russia has a lot of people who want peace in opposition to Old KGB Putin. We must save Taiwan - no choice.
It doesn’t make this German ass-kissing any better, but just for sake of correctness: The Taiwan flag was not actually “replaced” on that website, and especially not “suddenly”. As far as I understand, it had never been shown there. It seems the reason that this was found maybe was a redesign of the website, after which all country flags were shown on one page - and there of course the missing/white Taiwan one really catches the eye.
1998 Taiwan was not even listed in the “List of countries”
2001 the Taiwan page already has an empty/white rectangle instead of the flag

Germany sure doesnt seem to be that progressive when it comes to government. They recycle some and put up some solar panels and they expect everyone to forget about their ties with russia, china or how amazin volkswagen is with the environment etc. The good thing is they have improved a great deal over the past 80 years. Credit given where crdit due.
