If you’re of a certain age and temperament then BBC 6 will appeal to you greatly. I just finished listening to a show called “Dream Ticket,” which features live recordings. Tonight it was The Jam live circa 1979. Oi!
Bloody hell! The Jam, Squeeze, Pavement, Franz Ferdinand, Sonic Youth, Pixies, The La’s, The Verve, Garbage, Stone Roses, Page & Plant, Supergrass …
It just goes on and on! Fantastic link.

Anyone got any good recommendations for online TV/radio?
Personally, I love the selection available using the latest version of Winamp 5, via its Media Center; they maintain a central list of servers which Winamp can access (although you can access “foreign” streams), and their streaming video format is easily the best I’ve seen. On the TV side I’ve mostly been watching the dedicated Invader Zim, South Park, Simpsons, Monty Python, and Penn & Teller: Bullshit streams, with the comedy, bhangra (that’s some addictive stuff), and a few other random radio streams taking the other portion.
There’s also always the BBC, and Goon Show Radio (georgefm.co.nz)
For a great German station with mostly English music: www.swr3.de

Easily my favourite online station. The Morning Becomes Eclectic segment is awesome.

My fave: triplej radio, here in Oz. It’s government-run, which means it’s free of all the commercial crap and broadcasting restrictions of other local stations.
