I’d recommend you try it. Either them or maybe Citi but there both going to be pretty much the same. I’d avoid local banks because of their very design in regulations they are less accommodating and less focused on service. Taken as a whole, HSBC is the best you’re going to find in the crappy world of banking. Ermintrude seems to think it’s pretty horrible, but we’ve all had bad experiences with individual employees of certain organizations before and it should never be an indictment of the entire organization. HSBC has a quarter of a million employees, so yeah sure some of them are going to be borderline incompetent. If any problems arise, I think most people would simply speak to a supervisor and solve the problem.
HSBC is your best bet. You’ll probably still experience some issues here and there but I’m sure you can easily deal with them when they arise. Good luck
For premier account you have your own bank guy? so for anything you got a direct line to him/her?
I am moving back to the states and I don’t want to use US address for them to send me any mail, do you think they will accommodate me if I want them to communicate with me with only email, or phone and not by mail? Not sure what I am going to do with the address for the bank though.
I probably will just leave the money there, won’t really touch the money or use ATM etc.I can like tell them to email/call me/freeze the account if there is any unusual activity or anything right? they provide this kind of service? ( really afraid since I am not even in the country)
How are their investment advisers do you use them? They any good and how do they charge? fee only or fee based etc.
I have an advanced account in HSBC Hong Kong, the premier account sounds good maybe I will upgrade it to premier, then open another account in Taiwan. (I heard that I don’t need to meet the min balance again in Taiwan HSBC right? and just tell TW HSBC I have premier in HK or have HK send me a recommendation letter?)
Before when I want to wire money to another bank I always go to the bank, but for HSBC I see that you can wire money to another bank online? you guys ever try that? is it safe? for higher amounts like more than 100,000 NTD
