Hi, im looking to break into games user research (I have a background in research, specifically psychological research). Since there doesn’t seem to be many opportunities that I’ve found (found confusion over the difference between research and design which are not the same at all) and low salaries I’ve had the idea of running freelance consultant business instead.
I saw that the Taipei game show is starting Feb 5. I’m wondering if there is a good opportunity to network with developers there (my idea is to work a few projects probono for local indie developers to build a portfolio that I can later pitch to bigger clients) or if the game show is more for entertainment/marketing?
