Opposites (or "antonyms" for the posh ones among you)

I was having a very educational chat with the funky500 one yesterday and the conversation drifted into “opposites”.

Here’s a few we came up with yesterday. Any more you can think of?

dog - cat
water - air
silver - gold
metal - plastic

:homer:

irishstu - Albert Einstein

marshmallows - gobstoppers (jawbreakers)

Finally a fun game!

coffee - tea

Excellent!

sugar - salt

Alba-> Bang and Olufsen

apples - oranges

sunny day - weekend

Coke - Pepsi

These aren’t REALLY antonyms. They’re nothing like antonyms. They are just things that aren’t alike.

dice-marbles

talent -> Nicholas Cage

Shut yer face! Things that are not alike would be, for example, snowmen and bowling balls. They’re not opposites though.

As well, it’s the Fun & Games forum, ergo, if I say they’re antonyms, THEY’RE ANTONYMS!!!

(dice and marbles is a good one, btw)

Now where were we?

pink - blue

Here’s one for you personally, Iris:

Sushi Express – Burger King

antonyms-boilingwateronyms

(and my salt grinder definitely doesn’t look like a bowling ball)

Taiwan - rest of the world
