I couldn’t care less for sports in general so I rarely post here. But this was too funny to resist.
Some ultraconservative religious nut wants to sue the NFL for 10x the entire world economy over an alleged ‘pornographic’ halftime show.
I follow the NFL religiously, but in 54 years now I have never once watched a half-time show. Not one time. So no dog in this hunt.
And I don’t even know who or what a Shakira is irl. I suspect I’m not missing anything that will lose me much sleep.

Yes yes, a few decades ago an American comic said something like “it’s true that every woman has a pair of tits. You’d think we men would get used to seeing them, but every morning I still want to see every pair.” (he was probably much funnier)
There are whole swathes of pop culture I’ve never stuck a toe in. Movies (Titanic, the ghost romantic one, the one about a hooker … it might just be the romance genre), royals (their birth, marriages, deaths etc.), music (hip hop, euro pop), probably some others.
Same as me. My thought is who cares. Don’t watch it if it offends you. I don’t get why anyone watches that anyways. I watch football not this dancing and singing stuff.
Yeah. Half time is for moving around, the john, some time in the kitchen, chatting with the women who watch the men watching the game, not the game, etc.
I think I was in a kitchen once when I heard Aerosmith playing, and I saw the Jackson who flashed a nipple on the news. That’s about the extent of my half time show knowledge.
I feel like half time shows are for the women that don’t actually care about the game. I really don’t find it interesting.
Wait until he finds out that the halftime show is actually a big ole occult ritual. 
Interestingly, if he had ever opened his Bible, he would learn that Christ’s recommendation for this kind of cases was to take out one’s eye. «If your eyes lead you to sin, pull them out» basically. Not to cover the women or sue, but look away. That simple.
But in a litigious environment, well, he’s gonna get his 5 minutes of fame plus a lot if cash, which makes money and fame his real gods.
Well honestly if it goes to court, I hope his character is clean. Otherwise he’s a vexatious litigant .

I don’t really see it as that sexual compared to any music videos. And I find it extremely boring. It doesn’t get me excited in any way.
I watched it yesterday. There was one bit that was pretty suggestive, with the male dancer right behind J-Lo (I know it was her because I spent some time looking at pictures of Shakira after, lol 
). But if they try to make a case that it was “pornographic”, they’ll probably wind up paying the NFL
It’s spicy, and seasoned. Some people in America aren’t used to having their sex have some flavor. IJS
But since they want something toned down, maybe they can invite Debbie Gibson. Her career could use a jump.
If I remember correctly last year the outrage was against the lead singer of Maroon 5 appearing topless (if you don’t know the band he’s male, don’t go imagining things lol), and some feminists protesting that it was sexist since women can’t appear topless on stage.
It wasn’t pornagraphic, and the lawsuit is absolute garbage (except, perhaps in Canada), but I didn’t think the show was suitable for children and fastfowarded through it for this reason.
