Overseas chinese/taiwanese and traveling to Taiwan

I was born at taiwan and have a taiwanese passport. I was adopted and left the country with a european citizenship as a 1 year old infant. I left the country with my taiwanese passport and entered europe with a european.

I talked to the embassy last year and they said i could get the status as overseas chinese. SHould I do that? What would be the best to do if i want to travel to Taiwan? I do not want to serve military service there, I don’t even speak the language.

I know that they can claim service for me even if I go to Taiwan on a european passport, but if i change my status to overseas chinese I don’t have military duty, right?

anyone?
AND: Is it best to leave europe on EUR passport, enter taiwan on taiwan passport. then leave taiwan on twn passport and enter euope with european? or just stick to one?

Unless you want to stay a long time or re-establish residency in Taiwan just use your European passport. I assume you have visa-free entry and can stay 30 days.

You’ll need to get exit permission if you use your Taiwan passport.
