My arc is being processed and the foreign affairs have requested that I visit their office tomorrow in Taichung to explain my previous overstay. It was an overstay of 6 weeks, 4 weeks were unintentional.My agent was helping me process my arc but then I found out my visa had expired and could not get my arc approved. The agent said not to worry and to get a new visa in Canada when I returned for X-mas two weeks latter.
Should I not tell FA that I knew about the overstayand blame int on the agent? or should I tell the the truth that I didn’t realize the seriousness of the matter?
As it turned out,foreign affairs just needed a writen statement as to why I overstayed. At this point I am unsure whether they will approve or decline my arc. I will be on pins and needles for the next week as my visa expirs on the 9th.
Anyone care to throw their two bits worth on the possibe outcome?
The Taiwan gods seem to be on my side this week as I have recieved my arc . I am looking forward to another yr of great food,travel and of course my lovely students!
