P2P Live TV - Satisfied!

Has anyone tried P2P Live TV softwares ? I have been using some of them for a couple of weeks. The quality varies channel to channel but in general I am pretty satisfied and planing to cut my cable TV. Besides live TV (HBO, Star, BBC, Discovery, Animal, Channel V, Fashion…) there are some streaming media such as latest movies, shows, etc.

Here the ones I use (some Chinese);
PPLive, Sopcast, PPStream, TVKoo

They are open source and after installing no virus/spywares. Since it is P2P, the more people, the better the quality.

Yes.
I use some of them and they’re great.
I usually catch live hockey on one of them.
Who knows how long they’ll last though.

2 more great P2P LIve TV softwares:

TvAnts : Star Channels (World, Sports etc), SKY, Cinemax, Fox (WorldNews, Local KTVU), ESPN, Disney…
TVUPlayer : CBS, France24, Hollywood Movies, Sci-Fi, Nickelodeon, DW TV (German)…

If you have a high speed (2MB or above) internet and and SV or wireless connection from your computer to TV, you can enjoy this technology.

Seems like it’s becoming popular everywhere. I don’t think they last in short time.

ummm~ so are we downloading tv shows? or streaming? is it live or pre-recorded? etc. etc.

where’s the FAQ?

It’s streaming.
Live.
With a few seconds buffer.
I love it.

The TVU player seems the best, but the channels are limited…

they DO have a family guy channel though… but it keeps mucking up~ :s

How about streaming P2P for mac? I’ve checked out the above websites, but I can’t get anything to work on my imac. I’d especially like to know about the live hockey games!!

At last, someone created a remote control for the most common Live P2P softwares; pplive, ppstream, tvants, feidian, sopcast, ppmate, vgo, uusee, gridmedia, tvuplayer, octoshape… The remote also lets you download latest releases easily.

You can read the details and download from:
p2ptv.orgfree.com/

a big note:: be careful of that sopcast~ seemed ok at first, but my norton popped up the other day with major virus warnings coming from that program~
