Have you guys heard of Mr Gay World? It’s an international LGBTI activist group working to promote global tolerance and equality for all sexual orientations. This week, a winner will be chosen to represent Taiwan at Mr Gay World for the first time in history!
Taiwan has always been a leading figure in homosexual rights in Asia, with Asia’s biggest gay pride parade and many pro-gay rights events that bring in thousands of participants like the Rainbow Run. Although the laws have yet to change for marriage equality, social acceptance has continued to increase exponentially. That’s why now is more than ever the best time to choose a representative that will not only put Taiwan on the international stage, but also become a role model for many youths in Asia who are insecure about their sexuality.
If you’re a supporter of equality and social acceptance, we hope you can join us for a fun night of talent shows and performances, on top of being surrounded by fellow supporters of the same cause.
The Mr Gay Taiwan Pageant will be held in Kaohsiung City’s Pier 2 Arts Center’s “In Our Time” Performance Venue at 8:00pm.
Mr Gay Taiwan was started by former Mr Gay South Africa Finalist Igor Scheurkogel, who has been living in Taiwan for more than a decade and wanted to promote social acceptance and marriage equality in Taiwan through the same organization.
