Palfish: Whose going to tax me? US/Taiwan?

Ok. I’ll be sitting here in Taiwan working for a Chinese company but getting paid by payoneer a New York based company with my money being sent directly to my Taiwanese Bank account.
I believe Palfish regards me as an independent contractor so no taxes will be withheld.
So who will putting their sticky fingers into my pocket? Taiwan, the US?
So, w

If you live in Taiwan for more than 90 days in a calendar year, you are required to file a Taiwan return. As a US citizen you are required to file a US return no matter what. How much you might owe each depends on many factors.

Let me be more specific. All my time here has been that of a wage earner.
Money’s withheld and the give it back to you.
This is new to me. The employer is in China. Says It’s your “business” minus their cut. You take care of the taxes.
The trouble is who do I have to report to. Yes, the us. Because it’s not “employee” pay, won’t additional taxes have to be paid.
The US seems to claim all money world wide. But what about Taiwan?
Some friends say they need only tell the IRS. And do not need to tell Taiwan

Your question has already been answered. No one can tell you how much you might owe Taiwan, if any, with the information you’ve given. If you live here for more than 90 days in a year cumulatively, you are required to file in Taiwan and report your income regardless of where it comes from. Where your money comes from doesn’t exempt you from this.

Oh, one of those?

Whatever the company says about its relationship with you, the (Taiwan) tax office may have a different opinion.

The good news is that (Taiwan) tax deductions are supposed to be available for both employment income and business income. I would ask a (Taiwan) tax specialist.

For US tax, I would ask a (US) tax specialist. There’s one who hangs out here from time to time, a nice lady, but I’m not sure if she wants to be paged right now…
