Has there been some pretty serious paring of posts in the last day or so?
I’ve noticed that the recorded number of my posts has dropped quite sharply since the weekend. Is it because some dead old threads have been rooted out? If so, what are the criteria on which such a weeding operation is based?

I have a feeling that when a post is deleted, your post count doesn’t go down.

Am I right to assume that deleted posts would mostly be those that happened to end up in floundered threads or flames? I can’t think of any other good reason why any of my posts would need to be deleted – worthless though most of them undoubtedly are, I can hardly imagine they’d be considered as offensive or a stain on the honour of these boards.

Mine also went down by a few hundred. I’m just guessing that’s what happened, we’ll have to check with gus. Gus ?
I’ve just done a test, and your post count does go down when posts are deleted outright, but maybe it doesn’t go down when they are pruned from the flame and flounder forums, just a guess.
Why do you care about your post count?
I resynched the post counts - I hadn’t gotten around to it in a long time. Sorry for the shock…
One cares about the posts rather than the count. A sudden drop in number might suggest the loss of a batch of posts which could possibly include something of value. As it is, one can safely assume that the items removed were just mullock and spilth.
