Part of Speech Abbreviations (Practical Audio Visual Texts)

I’m not sure about a few of the abbreviations used for parts of speech in these PAV textbooks. I understand the obvious ones (N: Noun, V: Verb, SV: Stative Verb, VO: Verb Object Compound, I: Interjection, etc.). But some I’m not sure of and/or have never encountered before like:

IE: ??? (Interjective Expression?)
P: ??? (Phonetic something?)
RC: ??? (no idea here…)
RE: ??? (again not sure…)

I think there’s a few more that I can’t think of at the moment.

Help please. :slight_smile:

IE = Idiomatic Expression
P = Particle
RC = Resultative Compound
RE = Resultative Ending

For Book 1, the index on page 489 lists all of the abbreviations. Hope this helps.

Ahh, I can’t believe I missed that.:blush:

Thanks for pointing it out. :slight_smile:
