Past or Present Famous Candidates for extended booze binge!

This may have been posted about at some back in the daze but,
I think we need a counterpoint to the celebrity toke session.

tomthorne & Chewycorns both mentioned Oliver Reed as a good candidate for a rousing round of real raucous boozing!

If I was allowed 5 choices , think they would be these:
I also would vote for Oliver Reed.
Same goes for Peter O’Toole.
W.C Fields.
Edith Piaff.
Winston Churchill.

My apologies to all those I left out, past or present.

Ernie Hemingway
Churchill
Babe Ruth
Frank Sinatra (He could get us in anywhere and drinks would be free)
The Earl Mountbatten - preferably alive of course.

Just one grouping, the possibilities for this party are endless combinations of the well known, the witty and the obscure.

I happen to know a Taiwanese equivalent of Edith Piaff.
And she’d be up for this, only, she’d prolly outdrink you.
A very cool girl.

From my signature you can see Mr. Blue eyes of course and Any of the beatnik crowd like Kerouac or I have always said I would like to share a bottle of tequila with Bill Clinton… I always thought former president Clinton would be an top of the line wing man even though I never voted for him.

Jim Morrison would combine both threads. Or Keith Richards.

Yesh.

Outdrink me?
Are you sure? In what time frame, choice of booze, and season? I have not met many than keep pace with me. Except Siberians. They are even more adept than Russians and Koreans, Newfoundlanders and those damn Celtic & Norse fiends!
I have no doubt she’s a cool girl.
Can she sing like Mdmselle Piaf could?
If so, I MUST meet her, at some point in the future.
If for the sole purpose of scientific research!
Huzzah!

Do you know the chief IRL?
She’s a mutual friend of ours, he can hook you up for your humiliation.
She’s very ironic and bites like a piranha. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

I don’t know any of you lot in real life except the Taoyuan County chaps.

So, I guess she doesn’t sing, then.
:frowning:

Oh, that’s sad :frowning:
The best thing about Forumosa are people you meet in person.

And she does sing

Bob Dylan and the Band in the 1960s, or either one
[Edit:] Maybe John Steinbeck, Ed Ricketts, and “Mack” and his crew of bums around Cannery Row in Monterey (I’m guessing I’d be among the bums)[End Edit].
Maybe Kurt Vonnegut in the 1960s
Maybe Hemingway in the time frame of A Moveable Feast
Maybe Daoji/Ji Gong (have to learn his dialect of Chinese first)
Maybe Omar Khayyam (have to learn Persian first)

Indeed. Hem was in well amongst the boozers of all time.
I haven’t picked up one of his books since my early 20’s.
Well, since this morning that is!
Getting back to where I once belonged.

Nothing sad about it.
All due to circumstance & situational ethics.
Not to mention the mother of all payback:
Tme, The Avenger!

Outstanding! In French?
:notworthy:
