Paul: New, expensive French bakery

As I’ve mentioned elsewhere on this site, I think there are better places to buy bread in Taipei. But to their credit, Paul has survived a decade here, unlike Lalos mentioned upthread. They must be doing something right.

‘Paul’ is good, and yet still overrated especially for the price. I haven’t had it in Taiwan, but have tried them in Japan and the US. I’d never eat it in their home France though, where’s there much better local places.

I’ve only tried their desserts which I think is OK but the service in the Xinyi store isn’t that great.

Because most of their goods are shipped frozen, and ‘baked-off’ or decorated locally, some things are made local.

Well, I wouldn’t go to the other purveyors of frozen goods either. I know what I’m doing in Paris.

Basically, there are many bakeries anywhere that have part of their products from frozen dough or parbaked frozen, even pastry.

Okay, you’re Belgian. I’ll take your word for it.

The word is labor cost and working hours.
