If a Philipino lady has a permanent ARC thru marriage to a Taiwanese but is now seperated, Can she legally work here??
If she indeed has an APRC, then she has satisfied the requirements for an ARPC and is entitled to an open work permit. Yes, she can work!
The only two things to note are:
1 - Check that she indeed has an APRC and is not merely entitled to one. If her reason for residence is ‘joining family’ and she plans to get divorced she had better make sure her immigration status in Taiwan is changed to some other reason before the divorce.
2 - If she has an APRC she must make sure she does not lose this status by, for example, staying outside Taiwan too long in any year. Because there is nothing permanent about permanent resident status in Taiwan.
