I know there was a thread for this somewhere but I need more information regarding new rules for taking dogs back to South Africa. A friend is doing it NOW and she was told that the dog’s blood samples need to be sent to Onderstepoort in Pretoria(South Africa) for testing. According to Animal Travel .co.za you have to send the blood by courier and then it takes 2 to 3 weeks for the results. According to them the tests can not be done here(in Taiwan).Only then can you start with airplane tickets, permits etc for the animal.
Has anyone gone through this??
We haven’t heard of anyone who has send cats or dogs back that had to do this.
