I see this election as chosing between the lesser of two evils. The Philippines, back in the 1940s and 1950s, had a higher GDP than Taiwan. What happened? The Manila elite, represented by GMA etc., has always cared about their own power networks first and foremost. With all the abject poverty in that country, Manila elites whether its been marcos, aquino, or GMA, have done a horrible job of providing opporunity to the masses of poor people?
