I just booked a ticket from Taipei to Manila, but now am looking into what to do from there. Can anyone give me advice on where to go/what to do?
I am looking to spend my time on a beautiful beach.

You need to take another flight out of Manila to find your beautiful beach. Boracay or Cebu are popular destinations. Having just come back from Cebu, I can recommend that place. Boracay definitely famous for their beaches.
can you recomend an airline carrier? any idea how much it will cost? keep im mind its during Chinese New Year.

Internal flights will be Philippine airlines. No idea the cost, for Manila to Cebu. My ticket was from Taipei to Cebu inclusive, sorry.
I flew from Manila to Cebu this summer and it was around $2,200 Peso (one-way).
Boracay will be very busy at Chinese New Year, but it can be a lot of fun too.
An even cheaper option is to take a 2-3 hour bus ride from Manila to Batangas(200Peso) and then 1.5 hour boat ride to White Beach(150Peso). May want to check conditions there first though, as they just got badly hit by typhoon Durian.
