I don’t often disagree with N., but in this case I think it was the crazy talking.

Laughter is social— and I’m not convinced it is a counterbalance to the suffering brought about by consciousness.

I wonder if those kids raised by wolves laughed.

I take this more as a commentary on the suffering we humans endure, than as an actual explanation of why there is laughter. Life is a bitch sometimes.

Yeah, and I think Camus has us covered with Sisyphus happy.

I just wonder why N would use laughter as the determining factor when clearly not all people laugh for the same reasons and cross culture laughter is an even rarer skillset. My wife doesn’t get Benny Hill. I mean wtf?
