How about a photo thread for all the photo buffs to show off their pictures, discuss techniques, equipment etc. I’ve been shooting lots since I’ve been in Taiwan. I’m only using a Canon A70 at the moment. I’d be interested to pick up a Lomo sometime although I know the miss ratio with quaility is pretty high, but when the light is right and the focus is correct Lomos have an amazing result. Was interested to see them being sold at the large Eslite
Has anyone ever had experience with using the add on lenses for the canon A series cameras. I’d like to get a fish eye lens but can’t find one available for the camera. They have zoom and wide angle though.
Hit instead of doing the quick reply in the textbox below and you’ll be able to see the basic phpbb commands for this board. But I’m getting off-topic…
Anyway, amazing photos watanabee. I think the first one, the photo on the ground is my favorite.
Here are a few from my recent trip to London. I use a Sony digital camera. The first picture is the Hogwart’s Express from the Harry Potter movies, my family and I rode on it from York to Scraborough and back. The others are obligtory London shots.
They look a little pixelated. What kind of Sony digital camera do you have?
This is my favorite picture of my cat while I was painting my apartment. I took this photo in muted daylight with a cheap camera, probably a disposable one, scanned with a cheap scanner, but gorgeous anyway. I love the colors, the angle, and the lighting. And his pose makes him look beautiful, but I am a little biased.
I think a lot of the pixelization came from the web album creator that we used to put them up on the web. It did a pretty quick resizing of the photos.
The camera I used is a Sony Cybershot DSC-V1 and my wife uses a Sony Mavica MVC-CD400. The shots from both cameras look equally pixelized after being put through the web album software.
Isn’t this beautiful?
It’s on my friend’s farm where i’m staying in the countryside of North Carolina at the moment. It’s literally just behind me.
You can see more Alien photos on wunderground.com (taipei_alien). I use a Canon powershot S45, btw, and swear by it for superb digital photos.
I’ve had it a year and couldn’t be more pleased with it.
I’ll have to upload the tobacco field shots soon. Those are way cool!

For the price of them the canon products produce great results. I’d like to get my hands on the pro eos series someday. I’ve seen some pics taken with them and they look wonderful.
My friend just bought a DMC-FZ20 and it’s a really nice camera if you want something close to DSLR but almost half the price of the D70. Personally the D70 is still on my wish list of things to get when I have too much money, but the DMC-FZ20 is really nice too. Here’s some pictures he took with his DMC-FZ20 last week:
In particular, check out the zoom and image stabiliazation by comparing image 79 which is a wide shot and 80 which is zoomed in completely. Also 85 is a wide shot from the same spot as 86. And 95 is a great example of the macro capability. All in all, it’s a really impressive camera if you can’t quite afford the new “affordable” DSLRs.
Update: He has some more demo shots here as well, though three different cameras were used here, a Canon EOS Digital Rebel (filename ends with j), a Canon S230 (file name starts with I and ends in a number), and the DMC-FZ20 (file name starts with P):

I just love old run down places like that. They have alot of character and I like to imagine what they were like in the old days when they were still being used. Nice pic.
Jinete, whats that reflection in the middle of your Taipei 101 shot? Nice pic BTW.
